Lo Hei!

IMG20170203210202.jpg

This is a must-have dish for everyone during Chinese New Year. My dish is by no means traditional as it is made up of ingredients that i could get easily in Australia when we were living there. It is then where i realised that this is so much tastier! My Benny loves it too and he refers to it as “tossing salad” ❤ Everyone have the traditional type of lo hei only for the sake of tradition and everybody just eats a bite of it for good luck. My version is very tasty and my family always wipe out the entire plate cos it is so yummy! My version of lo hei has changed everyone’s opinion of this traditionally not-tasty dish 😀

Ingredients:

  1. Green and red peppers, all vegetables thinly sliced
  2. Carrots
  3. Cucumber
  4. Lettuce
  5. Crushed peanuts
  6. Lo hei crackers
  7. Abalone/smoked salmon
  8. Salt and pepper
  9. Plum sauce

Method:

  1. Arrange all ingredients on a large plate.
  2. Gather round the dish with your loved ones, using chopsticks, toss and mix the salad while saying your blessings and good wishes for the new year 😀
