This is something that i specially learnt for Ben as he is crazy about sushi. It has saved us heaps of money as sushi is expensive here. Not to mention, it is healthy and we can customize it to however we like with our favourite ingredients and it is also very fun to make!

Ingredients:

(Sushi Rice)

  1. 1 cup short grain rice
  2. 1 1/4 cup water
  3. 2 tbsp rice vinegar mixed with 1/2 tbsp caster sugar
  4. Pinch of salt

(Tamago)

  1. 4 eggs
  2. 2 heaped tbsp of sugar
  3. Pinch of salt
  4. 2 tsp mirin
  5. For veggie tamago: 1/2 carrot, 2 stalks spring onions, finely chopped

Method:

  1. Place rice and water in rice cooker and let it cook.
  2. Once rice is cooked, make holes in the rice and pour in vinegar mixture and mix well
  3. For tamago, combine all the ingredients and whisk well.
  4. In a fryting pan, fry the egg over medium low heat
  5. Roll egg into an egg roll when it is 80% cooked
